Do you offer Nitrous (gas)?

No, we do not offer Nitrous to our patients. At Dental Serenity, our aim is to help you overcome your dental fears with our gentle, caring approach. Many of our new patients come to us with severe dental phobia and after a few visits to us, they are relaxed and some of them even enjoy coming to the dentist!

What x-rays do you take on premises?

At Dental Serenity we are able to take routine intraoral radiographs as well as extraoral OPG (panoramic) and Cone Beam CT (3D). Having this technology available in our surgery means more convenience for patients as we do not need to refer them elsewhere for these scans.

Do you offer payment plans?

How often should I visit the dentist?

Our general recommendation is to visit us every 6 months for a checkup and clean. However, some people need to come more regularly and some people can wait longer between visits. We will advise you on what is best for you.

Where can I park when I visit you?

There is 2 hour parking available in the centre of Anzac Parade and on our nearest cross streets, Boyce Road and Alma Road. In special cases such as treatment longer than 2 hours, we can offer alternative parking within the building.

When should my child first see a dentist?

Ideally, when your child is around 1-2 years of age you can start to bring them to your appointments to familiarise them with the practice and dentists. Depending on how they’re feeling, they can try sitting in the chair and we may even count their teeth. We prefer to gradually introduce children to dentistry and each visit they become more and more comfortable. We find by the time they’re 4 or 5, they’re very comfortable with us and are happy to come to the dentist. And of course, there’s always balloons and stickers which helps!

Do you treat children?

Yes, we do! At Dental Serenity we love treating children and we’re passionate about making dental visits a fun and positive experience during their early years.

Do you have wheelchair access?

Yes, the entrance to the building is on street level and there is a lift available to bring you up to Level 1

Do you treat Veterans’ Affairs patients?

Yes, we do. Please bring your card with you on your first visit. We Bulk Bill this treatment so in most cases there is nothing for you to pay.

Does Medicare cover dental treament?

In most cases, no, unless you fall under a current Medicare Dental Scheme. The only current Medicare scheme is the Child Dental Benefits Schedule. If you’d like to assess your eligibility, please contact Medicare directly.

Please note: Dental Serenity does not Bulk Bill any Medicare services, payment in full is required on the day of treatment and the full amount is claimable from Medicare.

Why don’t you offer free consultations?

I have Private Health Insurance, how does this work? Do I pay a gap?

If you have Private Health Insurance, please bring your card with you on the day of treatment. Once your treatment is complete we can use our HICAPS machine to process your health fund claim and you only need to pay the gap. Dental Serenity is not a preferred provider for any health funds.
