Teeth Whitening

Teeth Whitening is a safe and highly effective method of improving the appearance of discoloured teeth. Utilising the latest whitening options, we can create a customised plan to assist you in attaining a more aesthetic and appealing smile. The systems for whitening are simple, non toxic and provide much less risk of sensitivity than those used in the past.

We currently offer the brands of Whitesmile Polanight and Opalescence.

The everyday consumption of coffee, soft drinks, staining foods and smoking can darken your teeth. With the use of the safe formulation of WhiteSmile Polanight or Opalescence we can offer the best professional strength tooth whitening products we have available. The products are safe, effective and easy to use. The home whitening kits come with whitening mouth trays which offer a customised fit within your mouth. We have a number of strengths available to cater for patients with more sensitive teeth.

How does Teeth Whitening work?

The whitening gel is placed into your custom fitted tray and inserted over your teeth. The enamel and dentin are gently whitened whilst the structure of the tooth is not changed, only the tooth colour is lightened.

This take home whitening system will whiten your teeth within a matter of days; even the toughest of stains. For optimum results we recommend using the whitening gels and trays for a minimum of three consecutive days at a time. However most people need 10-14 days of treatment to get their ideal results.

Teeth Whitening is not suitable for pregnant or lactating women, children under the age of 16, those who experience severe sensitivity and those who have allergies to any of the ingredients within the whitening product.

We also include GC Tooth Mousse with each of our bleaching kits, as it has been shown to be beneficial for sensitivity of teeth and longevity for the whitening.

It is important to note that the teeth whitening procedure will NOT whiten your crowns, bridges, fillings or veneers. The whitening process will only lighten tooth enamel. If you have restorations on your front teeth, they may need to be replaced after the whitening process is finished.
